1% for the Planet and Rewilding Britain

Putting something back into society is central to Oxenwood’s values and ethos.

Climate change is the defining issue of our time. It is transforming our way of life, our food systems and our economies. No challenge is more critical to overcome than the threat that climate change poses to our planet. Even amid this environmental crisis, only 3 % of total charitable giving goes to the planet. 1 % for the Planet and Oxenwood are on a mission to change this; we all need to protect the planet and its diversity for future generations.

We donate 1% of our total sales (irrespective of profits) directly to climate change causes identified by Oxenwood, in conjunction with 1% for the Planet, meaning there is no middleman.

One of the charities we passionately support through 1% for the Planet is Rewilding Britain. Recognising the inherent value and need for natural spaces, Rewilding Britain help recover damaged ecosystems across the UK.

Focusing on long-term, large-scale restoration of ecosystems, Rewilding Britain aims to get to the point where nature can take care of itself again, thus helping to restore our own struggling relationship with the natural world. In the UK, shockingly only a mere 2.5% is covered with native woodlands, so it is Rewilding Britain’s mission to rewild at least 5% of the UK.

When you buy Oxenwood furniture not only will you have a wonderful piece of furniture crafted in sustainable products, you will also be helping to combat climate change.

This is not philanthropy. This should be a cost of doing business. It’s paying rent for our use of the planet.
